Rev. Marilyn Kendrix, Guest Preacher for Social Justice

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, we were blessed to have the Rev. Marilyn Kendrix as our guest preacher. She shared a meaningful, thought-provoking and inspiring message, guided by her call to social justice.

Rev. Kendrix is the retired Bridge Conference Minister of the Southern Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ. Since 2012, her personal ministry has included preaching at over 100 churches to raise awareness about mass incarceration in America. Her current social justice preaching ministry addresses systemic racism and the controversy over critical race theory. So far, she has preached at an additional 80 churches on these subjects.

Rev. Kendrix teaches about the impact of racism, as well as preaches the gospel of Christian love, as Jesus taught:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this "Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31)

The service is available to watch on the church's Facebook page. There is so much to learn from Rev. Kendrix's message about both history and faith.
