Center Street Cemetery Tour

October 26, 2025--On a glorious Sunday following worship, and in honor of our 350th Anniversary, a group from the church walked down the hill to the Center Street Cemetery for a tour. Center Street Cemetery has been the free public burying ground of Wallingford since the town was established in 1670.

As the original burial ground for Wallingford, it holds the remains of some of our church and town founders and earliest minister, the Rev. Samuel Street.  There are descendants of those founders who are members of the church today!

Fascinating history of Wallingford was shared as the group passed by the remains of those who represented the town in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and many other conflicts.  Lyman Hall, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, lies here.  The history of the town, and of the church, lives on in the stories of the people who came before.
