Confirmation

“The journey of faith is a journey through life.
We are pilgrims, travelers, making our own way.
We travel on the pathway of the saints who have gone before us.
We walk the same highway and follow the same landmarks which led them.
But for each generation, in each time and place, and for each seeker who travels this way the road seems different.”

With these words, each September, we welcome a new class of confirmands – youth in 9th grade or above – and offer our blessing as they begin a journey of faith exploration together.

The Confirmation journey begins with a service of commissioning in September and ends with the celebration of the Rite of Confirmation on the first Sunday of June.

Along the journey the members of the class participate in Sunday morning classes that typically meet in The Meetinghouse from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.

In addition to the Sunday morning classes, the Confirmation program includes field trips, service projects, and seasonal special events.

They lead worship on Mother's Day.

The Confirmation class is accompanied on the journey by a team of adult confirmation guides.
